Icy Conditions

Well the new term is well under way and despite the cold snap outside, the Wood Workshop here at Chelsea College is being warmed by the usual energy and enthusiasm of our students. A steady start has seen students from various disciplines in with us making a wide variety of work. It's been a welcome warm up to what we anticipate to be a very hectic term. Below are some images taken from the past few days.

A morning of hard work and all ends polished perfectly.
Gluing up some Cherry veneered MDF boxes.

Very nice soft wood box with pull out drawers.

The old work horse Lathe being put through it's paces.
Multiple acrylic dodecahedrons being formed here.
Weng stands back and admires this table.
An acrylic incubator having the finishing touches added.
FDA Interior Design students cracking on with their small making project, part of their workshop induction.
The vacuum former being used here to blow some mirrored film through a former.

Carving, filling, sanding and a lot of patience has gone into this little wooden sculpture.
